چکیده

This paper describes a student independent research project. The project task was to evaluate the low frequency errors of Thermal Voltage Converters (TVCs). A method to evaluate the low frequency errors of TVCs has been developed ([ 1], [2]). This method is based on measurements of the dc transfer function and time constant of the tested TVC. The error analysis is performed in the frequency domain. The first phase of the student project was to confirm the developed method by generating MATLAB simulation based on the publications [l] and [2]. The project’s second phase was to analyze the TVC errors in the time domain and compare the results.

A High Efficiency Low-Voltage Soft Switching DC–DC Converter for Portable Applications

This paper presents a novel control method to improve the efficiency of low-voltage DC-DC converters at light loads. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) converters have poor efficiencies at light loads, while pulse frequency modulation (PFM) control is more efficient for the same cases. Switching losses constitute a major portion of the total power loss at light loads. To decrease the switching losses...

Improvements in the Nist Calibration Service for Thermal Transfer Standards

We report on multiple improvements made in the calibration services offered for thermal converters and thermal transfer standards in the ac-dc Difference Standards and Measurement Techniques Project at NIST during the past year. The major improvement in this calibration is the increased efficiency made possible by the consolidation of three disparate calibration services – low voltage thermal t...

Identification and Evaluation of Human Errors in Low Voltage Distribution Systems using FUZZY-HEART Technique

Electricity-related occupational accidents are the fifth leading cause of occupational deaths. One of the major causes of occupational accidents is human error. That is why the human role as a cause of the accident is so important and must be considered during risk assessment. The purpose of this study is to present a Fuzzy-HERAT human error assessment method, which can be used to assess the pr...
